Opinions of The Phess. We have beeu favored, -with a copy of the Star Almanack for 1887. It is a surprisingly creditable production for a small town like Hawera, aud the compilers aud printers may reasonably feel satisfied with then 1 work. The almanack contains* a great variety of the most usetul information, and consists of no fewer than 261 pages, not including advertisements. — Wellington Press. We have to acknowledge receipt of the Hawera Star Almanack for 1887. This Almanack, which is published by Messrs. limes & Co., of Hawera, has long enjoyed a reputation for being carefully compiled, and we notice that the new edition is full of useful information. — Wellington Post. The Stak Almanack for this year, printed aud published by Messrs. lunes and Co.. of H.iwera would do credit to .any of the large offices m the principal commercial centres of the colony. Compiled with ability and care, adapted to the wants of everyone, and containing 261 pages of jwinted matter omitting advertisements, the Stae Almanack should find a place in every household throughout the district iv which it is published. — Wauganui Chronicle. We acknowledge receipt from Messrs. lures and Co., of a copy of the Staii Almanack for 1887. As usual, the publication contains much useful information, and should be found very valuable by every settler along this coast. It contains very correct directories of the towns of New Ptymouth, Waitara, etc, as well as Hawera, Normanby, and other places. Every 3 r ear this valuable almanack shows marked improvement, and we must congratulate the publishers on this evideuce of success. The almanack is printed in first-class style, on excellent paper, aud we can safely say that the general " get up " is equal to that of any similar jn'Mication in the Colony. — Taranaki News. The Star Almanack for 1887, a copy of which has beeu sent us, is a very neatly printed and somewhat bulky publication containing a large amount of information on all sorts of subiccts. It should ensure a large sale, and we hope tlie enterprising proprietors will be recouped for the outlay they must have gone to in the getting of it up.— T.iniuaki Herald.
