Mr. Wardell R.M., has agreed to accept bail in sums of -£'230 each for Te Whiti and Titokownru, and £100 for each of the Maori prisoners. 13ail will bo forthcoming, tlie Maoris here acting as bondsmen. Tho men have ngrced not to return to Psirihrtka, but to remain in Wellington (ill their trial. Titokowaru oontinmnjj in the hospital. Mr. W. L. \loph, of Poverty Bay' has been retained for the defence.
