RAILWAY ACCIDENT AT WELLINGTON.
(PER UNITED PKESS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, This Day. A serious accident occurred near Kaitoke, on Saturday evening, to the Wairarapa train. In coming into town, and when descending a steep grade on a high embankment, two timber-laden trucks left the rails and were precipitated over the embankment. Fortunately tho couplings broke, and the engine and passenger carriages were not pulled off the line ; some other trucks were, but not over the bank. The escape was wonderful. The accident occurred at a sharp curve, where several similar occurrences happened some months ago.
