London, December 13. The latest news from the Cape of Good Hope states that tbe Boers are threatening a rebellion, but that the same is not expected, to take place. At a meeting of the Cabinet Council today, Mr. W. E. Forster, Chief Secretary for Ireland, insisted on coercion being enforced in that country, and aa immediate meeting of Parliament is therefore considered possible. New Zealand 5 per cent. (1839) loan, 107 ; 5 per cent. 10-40 loan, 103. At the wool sale on Saturday 4100 bales were offered. There was more inquiry, but the demand was principally speculative. 10,000 bales have been withdrawn from the sales since the opening of the auction. The Irish League has now instituted Courts for the settlement of disputes between landlords and tenants on the land question. A terrible colliery explosion occurred at Port Craig, which has resulted in the death of over ninety miners, who were in thepUs at the time of the explosion.
