CRICKET.
WAIHI V. MANAIA. The above match, which had been postponed from the 27th November, came off on the Waihi ground on Saturday last. The time for commencing wae originally intended to be 11 o'clock, but at this time the weather was so bad that it was decided to adjourn and see if the weather improved. Accordingly, at 1 p.m., (the rain having cleared) it was decided to make a start, and have a one innings match. Miller (who captained the Waihis) having -won the toss, elected to bat, and his Bide managed to put together 95. The only players who succeeded in getting into double figures were Arden 20, Miller 18, and Sheeban 17. The extras contributed the by no means despicable total of 81. The Manaias commenced their innings exactly at 8 o'clock, and were .all disposed of for 52 ; Phelan, with 24, being tbe only double figure maa ; extras, 10. The bowling of the Manaia men was very good, Phelan getting three wickets in one over. Arden and Griffiths also bowled veil for the Waihis. ,
