Barleyman, solicitor to the Board, stating that judgment had been obtained against Denis Car/oil for .£37 lQs M arrears of rest on section; 90 } that the necessary steps were being taken for cancelling his lease of section 30 ; that the Crown grant of the whole of the town acre reserve had been obtained, but he was unable to present Mr. Bat/s lease, in consequence of the incompleteness of the plan ; that iramediate steps would be taken for cancelling Messrs. A. Owen and G-. Dyer's leases, and* that notices to quit had been served npon them ; that, preparatory to making application for the opening of Albion street, a tracing showing the street and adjacent land had been obtained from Mr. Foy. He (the solicitor) was about Co proceed to New Plymouth, and would then search the title to the adjoining roads, as he was afraid the Minister of Lands was not favorable to opening the road, and it was therefore necessary to state the case clearly, and with certainty. He also hoped to be able to register Mr. Bate's lease. From. A. Owen, stating that it was an oversight that he had omitted to pay his rent, and that he had only received his lease on Saturday last. THE LEASES. Messrs. A. Owen, D. Carroll, and G. Dyer waited upon the Board, and explained in reference to the arrears of rent on their sections. It was decided, in each ease, that th& Board's solicitor should be instructed to stay farther proceedings, so as to allow the lessees to pay up arrears. The consideration of Mr. Ferguson's letter was allowed to stand over till next meeting. It waa decided that all the teases of sections in arrear, on the triangle reserve, at the bottom, of Princes street, should be cancelled ; an amendment, moved by Mr. Cockburn, that a month's notice should be given*, having fallen through, for want of a seconder, * SUBSIDY. - The Qeeretary stated that the Bnhsliy T amounting to £52 17s. 4d., had" been received from Government. DUAJWAGE AND 9TBEBT FORMATION. A lengthy document (which, through pressure' on bur space, we are compelled to hold over) waa received from M.r. Foy, C.E.,. relative to plans foi drainage and street formation, and , offering to do the necessary work for £156. ' ' ■• The Chairman, and the members generally, spoke highly of Mr,. Mr. Duffill, however, thought they bad better get an idea as to the cost of toe formation of the new streets before appointing Mr. Foy» Ultimately, it was resolved that Mr. Foy's terms should be accepted, J550 to be paid on completion of tbe-pfefl, and the remainder ut ax and trine mouthy .
