FIRE AT NAPIER.

Napier, Tuesday night.

By a fire this evening, a dwellinghouse belonging to Mr. Edmund Sutton, of the firm of Wavdrop and Co., was complefcely destroyed. The damage is estimated at £2000. The following are the insurances :—J2500: — J2500 in the Imperial Company, on the building; £300 in the New Zealand Company, on the furniture. The origin of the fire is wrapped in mystery. The only persons in the house at the time were four children, the eldest being only 13 years of age. They were all saved, though one had a narrow escape. He was dragged from under tlie.bed, where he had crouched.
