MR. ISAAC BAYLY IN REPLY.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. Sir, — I find, on reading your Wednesday's issue, that I have incurred your displeasure. Allow me to apologise for the fault committed, and at the same time would thank your reporter, through the medium of your paper, for the obliging manner in which he received and adopted my suggestion, at the public meeting, with regard to omitting in his report certain words used there. With a view of softening your just indignation, I would urge (together with my apology) the youth and inexperience of both your reporter and myself. I had no idea until now that Hawera had grown to be such an immense place — thinking that any little differences of opinion expressed " in the heat of debate " would be allowed to perish " still-born." Pitch into me, Mr. Editor t but spate the reporter. — I am,.&c., I. Bayly.
