At' the present time we hear much •talk in commercial circles of t-he necessity for supporting ]ST.Z. industries, and it is pleasing to know that at least some of our 'school teachers are educating the young under their care into this aspect ' of : patriotism. The junior

scholars at the Hutt Valley High. School have' recently been j receiving instruction on the subject of home industries arid given the opportunity of making a collection of, the great assortment "■'. of goods which are made in New Zealand. A representative of t-lie:.';' Hoitt News' '' was invited to inspect this assoTtmenLt of gooda last week and was surprised to find that almost every article that is manufactured in this, eouiitry. is represented in this miniature industrial exhibition and : displayed in a class-room set apart for tEe purpose. . The walls are hung with brightly coloured posters depicting pur motor industry, boot manu facture, woollen goods, jams, soaps, etc. Descriptive pictures of our many tourist resorts and some posters drawn by a pupil of the school adorn the walls. Arranged on the tables were collections which had evidently come from the grocery stores—jams, syrup, chicory, cereals, tobacco ; — and all with their appropriate advertising mediums. There were also some specimens of the - Golden fleece and of the Petone cloths. On the floor was an interesting working model depicting our railway system. A very interes^ting exhibit was made by a collection of neat scrap books. These were arranged t« depict with the aid of pictures and letterpress culled from various ~, newspa-oers and magazines our forest iridiistry dairy, pa sv oral and agricultural farming.
