SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING.
The school Committee met on Monday night wlion there Were present, Messrs Purcell, (chair), Williams, Fitzgerald, Carlylc, Hall and Neighbour, secretary. Mr Webber was also in attendance. The monthly report showed the number of pupils on the roll to be 11(> and the average attendance 77*3, the decrease being attributed to the wet weather. The school examination will take place on Friday under the supervision of Mr Petrio, chief inspector. It was suggested that the Colli nil llgu oiiOttivi ueciut? iiu Vv tliO uruiilv* ing-up of the school for the Xmas holidays should be signalised. Mr Fitzgerald proposed and Mr Williams seconded that the breaking-up should take the form of a picnic to Tarukenga. This was carried. It was also arranged that the Brass Band be asked to co-operate ; that Mr Webber arrange for a concert to take place on the night before the picnic; that the children should collect subscriptions for the sports and that Messrs Williams and Webber should make the necessary arrangements. The sum of £1 was voted from the funds for this purpose. The meeting then closed.
