PUBLIC NOTICES. MAYORAL ELECTION. To the Electors of Levin, — Ladies and Gentlemen, —I desire to thank you very sincerely for your decision at yesterday's election, and can only say that as in the past, so in the future, so long as I occupy the Mayoral position, I will endeavour to represent the citizens as a whole and to be fair to all. I am pleased to know that all the councillors elected in 1935 who offered themselves for re-election have been returned; this seems to indicate that the council's work for the past three years is, in the main, approved of by the electors. I have no doubt but that the council just elected with its infusion of new blood, in working together for the best interests of the Borough, will seek a similar verdict at the end of their term. I think the residents of Levin are to be congratulated on the interest displayed in the contest and the number of candidates Avho offered their services. As for Mr. Phillips, who, carried out so keen and thorough a fight for the Mayoral seat, he cannot but congratulate himself on the large amount of support he received after a very fair and friendly contest. Those gentlemen who stood for the position of councillors, l)ut did not succeed on this occasion, have something to be very proud of in the fact that not one of them received less than 500 votes, surely a record in this respect. Mr. Trim, who won the by-election about 15 months ago, received 170 votes more yesterday, than on the former occasion. Again thanking you, P. W. GOLDSMITH. MAYORAL ELECTION J WISH to express my sincere thanks to all those who voted for me at Wednesday's Poll, and also to those who assisted me during the campaign. HERBERT A. PHILLIPS.
