OTAKI NOTES.
On Tuesday.night a motor car, driven by Mr Stewart, of Reikorangi, ran foul of a cow at Te Horo, with disastrous results to the ear. One of the heaviest frosts yet experienced in Otaki was registered this morning, there being eight degrees. Several water taps were frozen. There ,is a mantle of snow on some of the lower ranges. There are no fresh developments in connection with the accident which caused the death of Sue Dick Kee oh. Saturday night, but detectives are still making enquiries. It is expected that, the enquiry will be opened in the course of a few days. Mr and Mrs Hodge, who have been residents of the To Horo district for some time, were entertained on Wednesday evening at the Hautere Hall and presented with a lovely tea and coffee service. The gift was accompanied by eulogistic remarks, after which Mr Hodge suitably replied. Mr and Mrs Hodge intend to take up residence at Tauranga.
