General Serrigny, a former Deputy and Chief of the General Stall", devotes an article in the Revue des Deux Mondes to Germany's development of strategic roads and motor transport, and emphasises the increase in • e number of 50-ton lorries for which special roads are being constructed. It is expected that 1200 miles of these will be completed by the end of the year, leading to the French, Belgian and Polish frontiers. They will be capable of delivering 72,000 soldiers hourly to a given point, enabling the transport of mechanised armies with a speed hitherto unknown.
