Labour Split in New South Wales
ATTEMPT TO BLOCK WILLIS AT BULL!
Received Wednesday, 2 a.m. SYDNEY, May 23.
A further development in the Bulli by-election is that the president of the State Labour Party announces the expulsion of Mr Willis from the party owing to his action in defying the executive and nominating for Bulli.
A swift counter-move was made by a number of union secretaries, who issued a manifesto requesting a special State Labour conference in July. The manifesto claims that the present crisis in the Labour movement is the culmination of a long series of ill-judged and foolish actions which have preprevented Labour in this State and the Commonwealth from gaining the reins of government.
