“BORROWED” CAR CRASHES.
DRIVER BEFORE COURT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Having “borrowed” a ear in Hobson Street with the intention of driving it to Palmerston North, John Henry Wil son > 20, succeeded in wrecking it at Paraparaumu. He pleaded guilty to-day to- converting a ear owned by Mr A. De B. Brandon and also to stealing a handbag and contents valued at £2. Accompanied by one 'Coley, he crashed into an iron gate and .both were injured. Coley is still in hospital.
' The police stated that, when interviewed in regard to the handbag, accused said he saw it in the window of a house in Boulcott Street and put in his hand and took it. Accused was released from Borstal on March 9th. Sentence of three months’ imprisonment was imposed on each charge, to run concurrent.
