HOME-MADE PLANE TAKES THE AIR.
DAMAGED IN LANDING. PILOT’S FIRST EXPERIENCE OF FLIGHT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) % GORE, Tuesday. David 'Cross, of Chatton, successfully flew; a home-made aeroplane on two short flights. The machine reached a height of 200 feet. The propellor and undercarriage were damaged owing to striking a log on landing. This was the first time Cross had been at the controls of any machine.
