The Chancellor, Herr Hitler, accompanied by Herr von Papen, Captain Goering, Minister in Charge of the Police, and Herr Goebels, flew to Kiel on his first visit to the fleet. Herr Hitler was received with a salute of nineteen guns as he boarded the flagship, the old battleship Schles-wig-Holstein. All Germany’s Navy is assembled at Kiel, except the Koln, which has not returned from Australia, and the Em.den, which is being refitted. Herr Hitler, addressing the garrison .at Kiel, said that though, the fleet was jsmall, Germans regarded it with pijide as the most tangible symbol of Germany’s honour and prestige. Germany longed for peace, but was determined to obtain equality and freedom. Herr Hitler accompanies the fleet on two days’ manoeuvres.
