POSSIBILITIES OF BEAUTY.
THE WEEKLY SHAMPOO,
MOUSE-COLOURED HAIR,
Girls hardly over see the beauty possibilities of mouse-coloured hah- and the pale delicate colouring that could be combined with it. With a little skill in make-up, coupled with a systematic and thoroughly beauty routine •the girl with hair this shade can even, be the envy of women with a more richly pronounced colouring. First of all shampooing deserves much more attention than is generally imagined. So often -it is neglected, and this is the underlying cause of the colour of one’s hair not coming up to expectations. The hair in general will lack a finished gloss and soft appearance because the shampoo was not given the amount of consideration it should have had. • Secondly the hair should be brushed thoroughly, so that it assumes soft, iSilky sheen. Women are apt to neglect this important item. A weekly shampoo is a distinct advantage and occasionally the hair should be given a medicated herbal shampoo. To bring more colour to the hair one cannot improve upon the use of a good camomile shampoo, or if shampooed at home, a little peroxide added to a good shalmpoo, lathering the hair well and massaging the scalp with the tips of the fingers. This will work wonders. '
Nevertheless, a good camomile shampoo formed into a paste and left on the hair for at least 20 mhijites has a more gentle effect upon the hair; then shampoo thoroughly. When shampooed at home a lemon rinse is splendid. Squeeze the juice of two fresh lemons into a clear rinsing water and wash the hair thoroughly in it, passing the fingers through the strands so that the lemon juice is properly distributed, then the hair will have a soft and silky appearance. Many women are afraid of using brilliautiiie because they say it makes their hair too greasy. However, if ,it is applied correctly it need not have this result at all. A spot of brilliantine after a shampoo will make all the difference.
Apply the brilliantine by sprinkling .one or two drops into the palms of the hands and then sweep the brush over it. Then start brushing the hair at the ends and not frolm the top, this will remove any superfluit. Afterwards begin brushing the hair all over lightly and smoothly. This method will give just the right .sheen and lustre to make your hair attractive.
