Speedway Rider Seriously Injured

CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. Gordon Wicks, aged 25, single, lies in the Christchurch hospital in a critical condition as the result of injuries ccived in a fall at the broadsiding meeting at Monica Rark on Saturday. He is suffering from severe head injuries. He fell when sliding out of a bend and N. Gray, following close behind, also fell, ft appeared that Gray struck both Wicks and his rnaenine. Gray was shaken but otherwise unhurt. Wicks was carried off the track inert and unconscious, and this afternoon had not fully recovered consciousness.
