Who Will Mix Cement of Empire ?
SIR JAMES PARR ON OTTAWA CONFERENCE. MASTERTON, Last Night. The Ottawa Conference was the event of the year for New Zealand, said Sir James Parr in an address here to-day. He expressed his confidence that the Conference would serve the intended purpose of promoting a great extension and expansion of inter-im-perial trade and urged the paramount importance of adequate preparation for the effective representation of this country at the great Imperial gather-

He suggested that the only cement that would hold the structure of Empire t - gether was that of mutua y P™ a trade between all parts of t e mpire. The Ottawa Conference would decide whether we were to mix this cemen o Empire and whether our race was to take up in the right spirit this great heritage of one-fourth of the globe. The opening of the Ottawa Conference would be a red letter day for New Zealand and the Empire.
