At the East Christchurch Club’s swimming carnival to-night L. J. Moorhouse made a new Australian and New Zealand record for the 220 yards bach strooke. He covered the distance m 2min 43 3-ssecs, the previous best time for Australia and New Zealand being 2min 59secs.
