WEDDING IN LEVIN.

St. Mary’s Church, Levin, was the scene yesterday afternoon of a wedding in which a great deal of interest was .taken throughout the district, when Anne Alison, youngest daughter of the late Mr John Kebbell and Mrs Kebbell, Nauniai, Levin, was married to Major Lewin Graham Mackworth Taverner, M.C. (Royal Field Artillery), eldest son of Mr and Mrs L. M. Taverner, ‘ ‘ Elian go wan, ’ ’ Greatford. The church had been decorated with masses of flame dahlias, and the ceremony was conducted by the Rev. J. c, Davies.

A guard of honour was formed at the ichurch by the Levin Company of Girl Guides, the bride’s own company, she holding the rank of District Commissioner for Horowhcnua, and is head of Guide camping for New Zealand. Given away by her mother, ,the tall 'bride was a graceful figure in her classical frock of ivory parchment satin, made with diagonal cut hip li ne , long tight sleeves, and simple Y-shaped neck. From her shoulders fell a rich Honiton lace train (lent by Miss Webster, Dunedin, the bridegroom’s aunt), over which was worn a handsome old lace •-veil, belonging to the bridegroom’s mother, Mrs Taverner. The veil was caught to the head by a circlet of tiny orange blossom buds. Her flowers were a sheaf of cream and apricot gladioli.

Two maids were in attendanceMiss Betty Crook, Marton (chief) and Miss Mary Kirkcaldic, niece of tho bride, also one small flower-girl, Joan Moore, niece of .the brigcdroom. The chief bridesmaid Avas dressed in a 'frock of shaded green marquisette from deepest to palest leaf. A shoulder cape and full-flared skirt was finished by a buckle at the waistline. The other bridesmaid wore a replica of the maid’s frock in plain green georgette, and ithey both wore gold net Butch caps, with tiny green velvet flowers ia front. Sheafs of apricot and flame gladioli were carried. The little trainbearer wore a long frilled organdie frock in parchment shade, touched with narrow green velvet ribbon, and a gold net Dutch cap trimmed with tiny green velvet flowers. She carried a posy of flame and apricot flowers. Mr Douglas Taverner was the best man, and Mr Quinton Wilson, Bulls, the groomsman.' After the ceremony a large number of guests were entertained by Mrs Kebbell at “Naumai,” her beautiful residence. Mrs Kebbell made a striking figure in her frock of black lace and georgette, with a lace coatee and black hat. She carried a posy of lavender and purple flowers. Mrs Taverner, mother of the bridegroom, wore a figured crepe de chine ensemble with a black hat, and carried a posy of autumn-tinted flowers. Miss Kebbefl, sister of the bride, was in an ensemble of figured green georgette with a green hat, and she carried a posy of pink flowers. Mrs Norman Kirkcaldio, sister of the bride, was wearing a patterned black crepe de chine ensemble, with a black hat and bouquet of . red roses. Mrs Lance Moore, LoAver Hutt, •sister of the bridegroom, had oh, A floral ninon frock and short coat with black hat and a posy to tone. Mrs.S. Chaffey, 'Christchurch, sister of the bridegroom, Avore a broAvm figured marocain frock and hat to tone. She carried a posy' of pink and beige roses. The breakfast Avas held in a large marquee erected at the back of the house, and in spite of the light rain that fell guests enjoyed Avalking in the beautiful garden, Avhich Avas looking at its best.

The bride travelled in a frock ofchocolate IbroAvn patterned marocain under a tailored avool marocain coat in soft matching broAvn. With this was woi’ii a brown hat.
