Loss of M2
UNUSUAL FEATURES. . CAUSE STILL A MYSTERY, y ’ /V LONDON, Feb. 2. In the House of Commons, the First Lord of the Admiralty, Sir Bolton EyfeS-MonseU, after detailing the circumstances of the loss of submarine M2, said that the complete absence of floating wreckage, oil, or air bubbles was an unusual feature. When the last obstruction was located the cap of the coxswain of the M2 was found floating in the sea, while under the sea was found a canvas bag containing the submarine’s hand flags and a petty officer’s collar. A full inquiry would be held at the earliest moment, but until the M2 was found and examined the cause of the disaster would remain a mystery.
