KOPUTAROA SCHOOL.

--- BAZAAR AND SOCIAL. An effort which was held at Koputnroa on Friday afternoon and evening to raise funds towards the installation of a sanitary system met with much success. A bazaar was conducted in the hall in the afternoon, when there 'was a good attendance of the puolic, wiio 'iberally patronised the stalls devoted to the sale of cakes, sweets and lamy goods, aim who loaud mum to interest them in the competitions. The social held in the evening was a so well attended, and a verx enjoyable time was spent by all. Attractive music for dancing was suppled by Miss J iyie and Air Nicholson (piano) and L.r A. Cottle (aceordeon), and Mr Murr - y Taylor made an efficient M.C. An t .111 wh.ch* hud a very popular recep ( on was a selection played on the guitar by Mr Nicholson, accompanied I a Native friend on the ukulele. A t-.-mpting supper was provided by the ladies.

The whole function was ft pronounced success, and after all expenses arc paid a good sum of money will remain towards the sanitation system, which, it is expected, will be installed during the Christmas holidays. • Some f : tuls have yet to be raised to ensure this convenience, which is a necessary oae in the appointment of a growing f, hool.
