His damaged motor cycle which had smashed into the railway of a small bridge, was lying alongside the injured ina.ii, who was motoring from WanganuL to Te Awamutu to visit his brother. , He is now in Te Kuiti with injuries to' the head and his condition is serious. Tlie accident was not witnessed and it is presumed the cycle skidded and crashed into the railing.
