INVITED TO RESIGN.
JEHGH COMMISSIONER OF EGYPT COMPLIES. <By Telegrapli-Prcss Assn.-Copyright.) (Australian Vrvis Assn. a.id Sun.) (Received This Day, 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 24. Hon. Arthur Henderson, Secretary far Foreign Affairs, announced in the House of Commons, that Lord Lloyd had resigned the High Commissionership of Egypt. He had previously written to Lord Lloyd, based on his reading of Lord Lloyd's attitude towards the policy of the late Government. EC. Hon. Winston Churchill: "Was I»is resignation extorted?" Mr Henderson: "My telegram was «f such, a character as to be accepted .as au invitation to terminate his position." '
