PUBLIC TRUST OFFICE.

STATEMENT FOB, JUNE. The following particulars of the loan transactions of the Public Trust Officeand new business reported during the month ended 30th. June, 1929, have been supplied by the Eight Hon. the Prime Minister. , The amount paid out in settlement, of new loans was £146,588. Further new loans were granted to the amount of £03,825, and the total of new loans now awaiting completion is £459,735, while offers of loans less than the full amounts applied for amount to £111,090, a, total of £570,825. Penewals of 38 loans amounting to £175,994 were also authorised. Applications for additional new loans amounting to £288,899 are now under consideration. Estates of a value of £822,450 were reported and accepted for administration during the month, making the new business for the quarter ended 30th June, 1929, £2,378,599, which is over £OOO,OOO more than the figure for the same quarter in the previous year. On the 31st March last the total "vtuue of the estates under administration was £48,334,790. Grants of administration made by the, Court in favour of the Public Trustee numbered 111 for the month. During the month 540 new wills appointing the Public Trustee executor were deposited for safe custody with the public Trustee by living tostator.s, and the total number now held is 04,177 representing an estimated present value of £256,000,p00.
