BOWLING.
MANSON & BARE CUP. The Manson and Barr Cup was successfully defended by the Shannon holders* from a challenge by a strong rink representing the Terrace End Club, after an interesting game. Bain fell at intervals during play and made the green heavy. At the afternoon tea adjournment the score was eight all on the 11th head. From then on each side scored at intervals until, at the 20th head Shannon were one up on the last head. Watterston, playing-No.-2 for Shannon, drew two lovely, bowls which were well protected. The visiting skip failed to alter the position and the game ended: Shannon 17, Terrace End 14 Terrace End were represented by Christensen, O’Grady, Johnson and Andersen (skip; and Shannon by Moynihan, Wattorston, Jon.es and E. Spencer (skip). The holders will defend a challenge from a rink from the Takaro Club to-morrow.
