INDIA DECLINES TO JOIN LEAGUE
WHY SHE OBJECTS TO PEACE PROTOCOL. (Received Friday, 7.15 p.m.) GENEVA, August 14. The Indian Government, in a message to the League, states it is forced to the conclusion that the peace protocol would be inimical to India's interests, as it would, in peculiar circumstances in Asia, mark her down as a nation where on League, under the protocol, would ordinarily (call to apply immediate sanctions against a recalcitrant state in the East, and this would be a heavier burden than India could bear.
