Pa/tterson and Hawkes beat Crocker and Wright, 6/0, 6/2, 6/4. Patterson was ill overnight, suffering frtom ptomaine poisoning, but recovered sufficiently to play. (Received This Day, 1.45 p.m.) NEiW YORK, August 14. In the doubles at Baltimore, Harada and Shimizu (Japan) beat Alonzo Bros. (Spain), 6/2, 6/3, 2/6, 8/10, 6/3.
