Tram Leaves Lines.
■ * 1 STARTLING ACCIDENT IN AUCKLAND. Auckland, February 1. An electric tram coming down the incline in Symonds Street, after a series of bumps, left the lines and swung at right angles. It hit the kerb on the footpath, and was brought up at the stone wall skirting the cemetery. There was more or less panic among the passengers, one lady fainting, hut no other injury -Was reported. The mechanical part of the oar was badly damaged. The cause of the accident was the collapse of a gear wheel.
