Wednesday’s Programme.
As an authority on athletics and recreation, the name of “Dinny” Upton is familiar throughout the United States. Captain Upton, formerly Superintendent) of Municipal Recreation of Grand Rapids, Michigan, brings to the Chautauqua platform one of the most constructive and) inspirational lectures of the present day. His evening subject will be “The Four Square Builder.” It is a stirring “heart to heart” talk dealing with the fundamental principles of social life, and pointing out the little things that make living worth while. ■ A. E. W. Mason’s “Green Stockings” ranked among the best comedies of English literature, will be given at Chautauqua on the fifth afternoon. The play, as conceived by the author and interpreted hy Miss Ruby Rage Ferguson, is one of unalloyed! delight, that in sheer drollery and rapier-like fun has few equals. Miss Ferguson is one of the best interpreters of the day. Miss Ferguson will also appear in the evening; at which time she will give a number of readings of various character. ,
