Dalgety and Company Limited have received the following cablegram from their London office under date Kith mst.—

"The March series of sales opened with a good selection and a large attendance of buyers. Competition is good. Compared with .closing rates of last sale, merinos wore firm and un--channel! except faulty descriptions which are 5 per cent, lower. Crossbred* are from par to 5 per cent higher. American buyers are holding back pending the shipment of their last purchases."
