No Action in Meantime
Arising out of the recommendation ol the reserves committee a month age to have the guns at Ebbett Park destroyed, and the subsequent decision of I lie Hastings Borough Council to delay the mallcr lor a brief period, Mr. .1. Wright, representing Hie Hasiiiigs lb-q L>ei elopiucul Association
" rote advising the council that he had interviewed several members of the association, and also residents, and that their unanimous opinion was that the guns should remain in the park. Among those interviewed, stated the writer, was Mr. W. A. G. I’eniington, principal of the Hastings High School, who had commented that he could see no reason why the guns should be removed. Hie writer suggested that if the guns were painted and identity boards placed alongside them, then they might prove more interesting to visitors.
On the suggestion of the Mayor, Mr. G. A.Maddison, who said that the council would shortly be visiting the reserve, it was decided that no action be taken in the meantime.
