SEWERAGE SCHEME
May Link Up with Works CONFERENCE TO BE HELD A suggestion that the council meet representatives of the H.B. Farmers' Aleat Co. and Nelsons (N.Z.) Ltd. with a view to discussing a proposal to link up their works with the new line of sewer was made at the meeting of the Hastings Borough Council last evening. Cr. P. M. Cohr stated that the I WorK» Committee had considered the letter and recommended that the companies be advised that the council would he prepared to consider their suggestions at a later date, but that nothing could be done in the meantime until the cost of the sewerage outfall scheme had been ascertained. In connection with the sewerage outfall scheme an Auckland firm invited the engineer to inspect a new type of concrete pipe, which it was claimed was an improvement on the ordinary centrifugally spun pipe.—lt was decided to hold this matter over until after the tenders for the contract had been considered. | , Various formal and routine matters, such as the confirming of several resolutions and the passing for payment of varying sums in connection with the raising of the sewerage outfall loan were attended to at the meeting, and it was stated that the first instalment of‘the loan would '-e avMlable on July .1 next. *
