Racing in England NEWBURY CUP RESULT (Received 12, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, June 11. The Newbury Cup resulted:— CHIRGWIN 1, Birds-eye 2, British Quota 3. Six started. Won by two lengths, third back half a length. PROTEST ENTERED Winter Handicap Winner Mr G. Neich, owner of Contract, runner-up in the Winter Hack Handicap yesterday at Hastings, has entered a protest against the stakes being paid over to the owner of tho winner, Stitchbird, on the grounds that this gelding is trained by an unlicensed trainer. The enquiry will he held by the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club to-moprow morning at 10 o’clock.
