MISSIONARIES’ ORDEAL
Arrive Half Starved at Addis Ababa HID IN THE MOUNTAINS (Received 6, 9.30 a.m.) ADDIS ABABA, June 5. The New Zealander, Miss Freda Horn and the American, Miss Daisy MacMillan, members of the American Ethiopian and Sudan missions, arrived half starved afterf barrowing experiences since their flight from u mission station at Marayo, where Abyssinian pillagers beat them. They were rescued en route to Addis Ababa after hiding tor three weeks in the mountains. A recent cable stated that Italian soldiers were-. rushed to Marayo, 70 miles southwarfd of Addis Ababa, to rescue two women missionaries, Misses Freda Horn, a New Zealander, and Daisy Macmillan, an American, who were reported to have been attacked and beaten by Abyssinian pillagers. A later message stated that they were found safe aud in good health, and were remaining at their posts, as they considered the danger was over.
