TEMPERANCE UNION

Young People’s Meeting

The monthly meeting of the Young People’s Christian Temperance Union was held in Wesley Hall, Miss Wilson being in the chair. Devotions were led by Miss Wilson and Mr Hickman, Miss Wilson also reading a scientific fact.

All members were reminded of' the examination in August, and the members were urged to bring new members and arouse the interest of old oues. Miss 11. Hensmon was appointed Beacon agent. At the conclusion of the business a play-reading was given by several members for White Ribbon Day (“The Trees of the Forest Shall Lift Up Then Voices”) Miss Mitchell also read a paper on 'White Ribbon Day, and what it stands for. All members enjoyed both items.

Mr Watkinson was appointed chairman for the next meeting, and two other members were elected for devotions. A competition was held, each member present having brought an early photo of themselves. Members were asked to name the children and give places for three best, the results being: Miss Spurdie 1, Mr Baumgart 2, Miss McLean 3. A penny collection was taken and the meeting closed with the Benediction. All young people are cordially invit ed to attend these meetings.
