The newspaper “Asahi Sliimbuii.” says: “The scheme for wool retaliation will be kept secret so as to hold Australia iu suspense, but it is reliably learned that the progra-iime is substantially:— (1) That the purchase of Australian wool be limited to two-thirds the quantity hitherto imported, but actually they will buy only 250,C00 bales a year; (2) to obtain 250,000 bales elsewhere; (3) to curtail ilia mill output 30 pci ccut to offset the deficiency in the supply.’’
