WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
Puketitiri Meeting Mrs. Skinner presided over a fair attendance at the June meeting of the I’uketitiri Women’s Institute. Points in connection with the show schedule were finalised. Airs. Turner gave a very good report on the recent federation meeting. I ho entries lor the month’s competitions were veil done, and the prizes were awarded as iollow:—Sugar bag apron, Miss Carswell I, Mrs. Shepherd Mrs. Carswell 3; child’s eoat-hanger llor Christmas tree), Airs. Carswell 1, Mis. Shepherd Mrs. Holt 3. During the afternoon a competition -longest list of girls' names written in four minutes —was won by Aliss Walters. After afternoon tea members learnt two new folk dances, “Russian Skipping Dance” and “Danish Dance of Greeting” before finally elosing a very enjoyable meeting with the National Anthem.
