FRENCH NAVY REBUILT
Up-to-Date War Stocks BREST, May 31. M. Pietri, Minister of Marine, speaking at the opening of the new naval school, emphasised that France in the last 12 years had rebuilt her navy to suit her requirements. She had created big submarine stations at, Toulon, a Mediterranean port, and Bizerta, Tunis, completed plans for a complementary Algerian naval base at Mers-el-Kebir, and modernly armed the French Moroccan coast defences. She had also given attention to war stocks, especially an oil-fuel house in subterranean wells unique throughout the world.
