J’bc valued services rendered by other officers ot the board were also the subject ot comment by him. “The boaid members have given unstintedly of their time and have shared the lesponsibilities of all the negotiations and work connected with the carrying out ot two major schemes,’’ Mr. Lassen said. “I also thank the engineer and his staff, the clerk and his staff for their valued assistance and loyal support. Especially 1 desire to thank* the overseer and the men under him for the splendid way they have carried out their duties—the Tutaekuii work itself wid be a lasting monument to their labour "In conclusion I would thank ths district engineer of the Public Works Department for his valued advice and help in all the matters affecting the rivers, and also the Press for the fair and impartial way in which they have reported the proceedings of the boaid.’’
