Death of Old Identity From Our Own Correspondent WAIPAWA, Muy 31. Tho death took place at Wellington recently of Mr C. J. Bartlett, well known in Waipawa as “Turakina Charley." Iu his early days he followed the sea and was a member of the crew of the “Northumberland" when she was wrecked on the Petane beach, near Napier, some fifty years ago He' was 78 years of age at the time of his death. Mr G. Cossar, of Waipawa, who has been on a visit to Christchurch, has returned home. Tho annual meeting of the Waipawa Licensing Committee will be held at Waipawa on Thursday.
