Mr. Cullen’s Maiden Speech

'Io the Editor.) Sir,—ln your report of Mr Cullen’s maiden speech, he is credited with having stated that the British banka issued credit to some £9,000,000 in war bonds. If my memory serves me right, Mr Cullen stated in his electioneering campaign that the banker issued £9,090,000,000 iu war bonds. As £9,000,000,000 is the correct figure, I would be gratified fio know whether th® mistake is Mr Cullen’s or merely a typographical error. This information will no doubt be of interest to your readers as well. —Yours, etc., J. S. HANNAH. Hastings, May 5, 1936. [The mistake referred to in Mr Hannah’s letter is -evidently that of the Hansard reporter who reported Mr Cullen’s speech and irom whose copy the “Tribune” published the speech. Ed. H.B.T.]
