PARKVALE SCHOOL
Monthly Committee Meeting The monthly meeting of the Parkvaio School Committee was held last night, Mr J. Stickland presiding over Messrs C. H. Jennings, H. Rapley, W. 8. Baker, K. J. Davidson, H. Cameron, H, Spence and the headmaster, Mr W. B. Roe. It was reported by the headmaster that the roll was still 390, and that tho attendance during the month had been good, in the face of inclement weather. The proceeds of the school’s share of the Napier Frivolity Minstrels’ concert were spent in the purchase of 300 books for the different classes, for which the staff expressed its thanks. The committee decided to bring the condition of the footpath and the road outside the school before the notice of the Hawke’s Bay County Council. The practice among children of the different classes to hold penny concerts so that extra material could be bought for class work has brought excellent results, and the committee asked tho headmaster to convey to the children congratulations upon their work. Tho visiting committee for this month will be Messrs. J. Stickland and C. 11. Jennings.
