Big Bout at Hastings ‘KOPACK’ WOODS—BLOMFIELD On Friday at the Municipal Theatre, Hastings, wrestling enthusiasts are to be treated to another great match. The Hawke’s Bay Wrestling Association has been fortunate in securing the two full-time actionists, “Lofty” Blomfieid (N.Z.), and Joo “Kopach” Woods, of U.S.A. Woods has already proved himself a popular draw since his arrival in New Zealand, and has given some of the top liners a rough passage, including a victory over tho great Harry Kent.’ He keeps going from gong to gong, and produces an effective response to anything started by his opponent, whether within or outside the bounds of straight wrestling—just the man to reply to some of “Lofty’s unorthodox tactics. He is exceptionally strong and moves at great speed and never lets up. Blomfieid has also proved himself and has gratified enthusiastice in these parts, his record last season placing him among the first flight of world famous wrestlers. Lofty will find in Woods a tough proposition, and when it comes to “elbowjolts” he is going to meet his match. Both men are all-round exponents of the art, neither specialising in any one hold, so that anything may happen. Another fine selection of amateur bouts has been arranged, and a great night’s entertainment is promised. Prices are as advertised in this issue, and it is advisable to book early as the box plan definitely closes at Hall’s bookshop at 5.15 on Friday evening.
