Values at Waipukurau Stock Sale FATS AND STORES Both fat and store cattle were in good supply at yesterday ’s stock sale at Waipukurau. Fat cattle were of somewhat mixed quality, but met the market with steady competition at late rates. Principally cows and heifers were offered with a few bulloclfs included. Vendors’ idea ot values were too high for buyers of store cattle, and passings were in consequence numerous. A few sales were effected at rates on a par with last week’s. . Fat and store sheep were penned in average numbers, and met with steady competition at rates which were unchanged on last week. Selected entries and prices paid, from which an idea of the state of tho market may be obtained, are as follows: — STORE CATTLE. Ton good 18-mth Hereford steers sold at £4 4/-. Four Red Polled weaner heifers made £3 5/-. A single Red Polled 18-mth steer made £3 4/-. Five light P.A. and Hereford cows, tunning with bull, made £2 10/-. A single Holstein cow sold at £1 17/6. Five P.A. cows running with P.A, bull made £4 2/-. Ten Hereford steers in good condition made £6 5/6. Four heavy P.A. bullocks sold at £6 6/-. Five weaner Hereford steers made ” Five P.A. cows, running with P.A. bull, made £4 2/-. Ten Hereford steers in good condition made £6 5/6. Four heavy P.A. bullocks sold at £6 6/-. A pen of 64 prime ewes sold at 20/-. A line of 43 well finished ewes sold at 19/-. A line of 169 well grown and conditioned prime wethers made 27/-, STORE SHEEP. A pen of 166 heavy 2-th ewes, running with rams since March 15, well grown and conditioned, were passed at 34/-. A pen of 135 2-th ewes in good condition and well grown were passed at uu/“. A line of 197 wether lambs, on account of the estate of G. Y. Lethbridge, passed at 15/9. A pen of 94 4 and 5-yr ewes, running with Corriedale ram, was sold at 20/8. A pen of 162 fairly grown wether lambs, on account of D. W. Lethbridge, passed at 16/6. A line of 130 blackface wether lambs fairly grown and conditioned, on account of Mr Bainbridge, Otane, made 20/-. ' A line of 150 wether lambs made 14/6. A pen of 143 wether lambs, fairly framed and good conditioned, sold at 18/6. A line of 136 good forward conditioned wether lambs made 21/-. A line of 112 fairly framed woolly wether lambs on account of B. P. Wilder, Wanstead, sold at 20/3. A pen of 59 well-grown woolly wether lambs sold at 17/8. A pen of 86 blackface S.D. cross wether lambs sold at 17/10. A pen of 39 whiteface wethers in good condition and well grown sold at 23/6. A line of 110 ewe lambs mixed in condition sold at 16/7. A pen of 51 6-yr ewes, running with S.D. rams since March 9, on account of F. Logan, sold at 23/-. A pen of 60 fat and forward lambs passed at 18/7. A lino of 120 fairly framed wether lambs sold at 1/65. A line of 124 wether lambs fairly grown and conditioned made 10/-. A pen of 50 fat and forward lambs well grown and good condition, sold at 21/-. A pen of 38 fairly grown wether lambs, good condition, passed at 19/-. A line of 33 blackface lambs made 13/8. A pen of 18 4 and C-th ewes, running with Romney ram since March 5, in good condition and well grown, sold at 28/-.
