ANZAC SERVICES

Ceremonies in Various H.B. Centres THE PROCEDURE Anzac commemoration services in the various Hawke’s Bay centres to-morrow will be held as follow:— HASTINGS The form of the Anzac Day commemoration service in Hastings will be exactly similar to that of last year’s service. Ex-scrvicemen are asked to parade at the Bandroom, Warren street, at 10.30 a.m., and to wear medals and decorations. The parade will march to the Municipal Theatre, led by the Citizens’ Band. The service in the theatre will begin at 11.0 a.m., and afterwards wreaths will be laid on the cenotaph. The address will be given by Colonel L. K. Turnbull, D. 5.0., M.C., of Wanganui. NAPIER The Anzac Day ceremony in Napier will be held this year at the soundshell, when those parading will march there from assembly points at intervals along the Marine Parade, from the baths to the Hawke’s Bay Club. Seat ing is to be provided at the sound-shell for ex-war nurses and disabled exservicemen. Bands in attendance will be the Technical Band and the Hawke’s Bay Highland Pipe Band. The Citizens’ (Ist Battalion Hawke’s Bay Regimental) Band is at present in camp at Waipukurau. The speaker will be the Rev, D. N, McDiarmid, who will be introduced by Mr E. H. T. Dunn. At 7 o’clock on Saturday morning, a Requiem Mass will be celebrated in the Catholic Church by the Rev. Father Vincent, S.M.

TABADALE Taradale returned soldiers will parade at the War Memorial at 10 o’clock, and, headed by the Napier Technical Band, they will march to the Town Hall, where they, in company with the general public, will participate in the memorial service The chairman of the Taradale Town Board, Mr J. Williamson, will preside, and the Rev. J. Cumming will deliver the address. Following the service, the congregation will proceed to the War Memorial, where wreaths will be placed by representatives of various local institutions and relatives of the fallen.

WAIPUKURAU The Anzac ceremony in Waipukurau on Saturday will take place at the Anzac Memorial at Russell Park at 10.30 a.m., followed by an address iu file Municipal Theatre. Returned soldiers, Boy Scouts and Girl Guides, schoolchildren, the band and the troops in camp will gather at the memorial and parade in the procession to the theatre. High School cadets will form the firing party at the memorial. Returned soldier., are requested tv assemble at llio Post Office at 10.15 a.m. sharp to attend the service. Medals and decorations are to be worn. The service in the theatre at 1.1 a.m. will be presided over by the Major, Mr I. W. N. Mackie. The Rev. W. R. Hutchinson, C.F., will lead the gathering in prayer, Adjutant D. Laskey, of the Salvation Army, will read the lesson, and the Rev. Canon E. D. Rice, M.A., C.F., will deliver the address. WAIPAWA. The Waipawa Anzac ceremony is to be held at the War Memorial at 10 a.m. The speakers will be the Mayor, Mr C. Harker, Mr H. M. Christie, M.P., and the R.S.A. president, Mr H. T. Limbrick. The band will lead the procession, which will consist of Returned soldiers, Fire Brigade, Girl Guides, Boy Scouts and Cubs, and High School cadet firing party. OTANE. The Rev. Mr Robertson will be the speaker at the Otane Anzac sei lice, which is to be held at the War Memorial at. 2.30 p.m. The Waipawa High School cadet firing party and band will also he present. ON’GAONGA. Providing the weather is tine, the Anzac service at Ongaonga will be held at the War Memorial, but otherwise in the Town Hall at 2 p.m. Afterwards the returned soldiers, the Rev. W. 1. Drake and Mr H M. Christie, M.l ~ will proceed to Tikokino for the service there at 3 p in. Lesson and prayers will be read by the Rev. W T. Drake, and Mr H. M. Christie, M.l’., will deliver the address. PORAN'GAHAU. Ths Anzac ceremony at Porangahan will take place in the Public Hall at 11 a.m All are cordially invited. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Mr Cameron, assisted by others. Returned soldiers are requested to assemble at the Post Office at 10.45 a.tn.
