An Easter Bride An Easter bride. Miss Cecily Bell, of Havelock North, was the guest or honour at a jolly gift party given on Saturday afternoon by one of her bridesmaids, Miss Mary Rainbow, Tomoana road, Hastings. The guests were received by Mrs. A. I. Rainbow who wore a gown of dove grey ripple ninon patterned in shades of Chinese green and petal pink, the capo sleeves and skirt trimmed with kilted frills. Her daughter, JMiss Mary Rainbow, wore a frock of navy blue marocain a frill of white kilted organdie outlining the neck and finishing tiro sleeves.
.The guest-of-honour wore a model .frock of nigger brown wool matelassc, the corsage having a high shirred neckline caught with a gold clasp, and the waist defined with a wide gold leather belt buckled in front. Her brown hat was trimmed with pin tucking and finished in front with a bright feather mount. Mrs. Melville Bell wore a coat of deepest amethyst self-striped silk over an amethyst and beige floral frock and her hat was of amethyst straw’.
The guests chatted together in the drawing-room gay with large bowls of pink belladonna lilies and dahlias in pink shades. ■ A very delicious tea was handed round and enjoyed by all. Afterwards the guest-of-honour was asffcd to open her gifts and as the guests were asked to bring a coathanger or pair of shoe-trees a variety of daintily covered coat-hangers and shoe-trees were received, among them a much admired set covered in white satin and finished with white roses in readiness for the bridal gown and shoes. Miss Cecily Bell, who thanked everyone for their charming gifts, was helped in opening the parcels by two of her bridesmaids, Miss Mary Rainbow and Miss Nancy Logan. The guests present were: Mrs. P.
