Hastings Woman Hurt

As the result of a motor-car crashing into a telegraph pole in Railway road, Hastings, yesterday morning, Mrs Mavis Hume, of the Carlton Club Hotel, is at present an inmate of the Hastings Memorial Hospital. Her condition is not serious.

The car, which was driven by Mr George Leslie Burns, of Churchill street, Hustings, was proceeding along Railway road, and when near Southampton street, for some unaccountable reason, swerved to the side of the road and crashed head-on into a telegraph pole. Considering the damage to the vehicle, which was extensively knocked about, the occupants, Mr Burns and Mrs Hume, were fortunate in escaping serious injury. Mrs Hume was the more unfortunate of the two, she suffering abrasions, minor cuts and also shock, and after receiving medical attention was admitted to hospital,
